Assistant Financial Controller

The Role Financial Accounting: o Demonstrated a thorough understanding of complex accounting and auditing concepts and applied them to the business situations. o Assist in the month end closing and financial reporting process including GL account analysis, consolidation and Intercompany reconciliation. o Preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations with high accuracy and ensuring that these reconciliations are properly backed up with required supporting. o Ensure Royalty, Management charges and Intercompany transactions are posted accurately and on time. o Perform detailed analysis of OH to see if any efficiencies possible. o Ensuring monthly reconciliation of VAT GL’s and on time submission of VAT returns once VAT is implemented. Compliance, Risk Management and Internal controls: o Ensuring that effective internal controls exist and are working effectively across all business areas. o Assisting in the formulation of internal controls and policies to comply with company policies, local legislation and established best practices. o Reviews the data quality and accounting scorecards on a monthly basis and highlighting areas of concern and agree on action points. Ad hoc and Projects: o Providing finance support on new affiliate projects. o Providing support on VAT implementation project and working closely with consultants to fully understand the VAT concepts and then later working as VAT champion. o Any other special assignments that may come up as part of routine finance work.
