Senior planner airside

About the Department: Dubai International is one of the fastest growing airports, and this trend is set to continue for the foreseeable future. To date we've experienced considerable success in maintaining our service levels by building new facilities to meet our capacity demands. However, we are now constrained in our ability to build any further capacity, so we must change how we work to optimise the use of our existing infrastructure. To meet this requirement, a new Planning and Monitoring department has been created to enable informed, planned and predictable airport operations that exceed our customers' expectations. This new department brings together the following previous divisions: * JCR * Operations Planning * Stand Planning * Airport Performance Three new departments; Planning, Review and Performance, Operations Monitoring, and Continuous Improvement, will focus on before the day planning, on the day operations, and after the day long term improvements. To support this new department, a new operational Training and Development centre called Campus is being established to develop and embed new ways of working, aligning people, process and technology for operational efficiency. In order to achieve the new ways of working, Campus will include taught content, experiential learning, one to one development, team building and coaching and mentoring. Initially focused around supporting the development of the Planning and Monitoring function, Campus will eventually look to support the wider operations department. About the Role: The Senior Planner - Airside will be responsible for developing and implementing a framework for the short/medium-term capacity and performance analysis of the airside and related infrastructure and resources (e.g. stands, taxiways, runways). This framework will form a key input into the airport-wide operational plans. The Senior Planner will work in close cooperation with our Monitoring (AOCC) and other airfield stakeholders (e.g. ATC, Airside Operations, Engineering Services) to ensure the whole operation follows the plan. The Senior Planner will aid in developing an approach to airfield and stand planning that will allow all stakeholders to anticipate issues and resource shortfalls, and have sufficient time to mitigate any potential problems before the day of operation. The Senior Planner will also aid the airfield development programme to ensure the impact of ongoing works onto the operation is minimised (e.g. runway, stand or taxiway closures). The ideal candidate will be educated to a degree level, ideally in Operational Research, Engineering or a related Mathematical field, and have previous experience within a similar position. An understanding of Airfield Performance or Airfield Planning will be highly advantageous along with experience with airfield and stand allocation simulation and modelling tools, especially AirTOp, BEONTRA or INFORM. Knowledge of Business Intelligence tools, especially Tableau, is also advantageous. For full details about the role and the responsibilities, please click here. Skills About you: You should be educated to degree level in a numerical subject. A post graduate degree or a professional qualification is an advantage. You should have experience of at least 4-6 years in research, planning or engineering role, with a significant amount of that time in the aviation sector. Strong influencing skills and proven ability to communicate data and information in a manner that is readily understood by a wide audience of varied experience is strongly required.
