At the moment we're looking for an Area Director of Sales and Marketing to join our team at InterContinental Hotels Group® Dubai Festival City. Under the general guidance and supervision of the Area General Manager, and within the limits of established Corporate/Sales policies and procedures, oversees and directs all Sales and Marketing activities for the IHG managed properties in the Dubai Festival City cluster. Responsibilities include the development of short, medium- and long-term strategies and plans for each of the four properties; overseeing and the development and implementation of the sales and marketing plan; leading and developing the sales and marketing team. Responsibilities also require direct and routine interaction with regional IHG executives, owning company representatives and government authorities. Your day to day Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Develop annual and 3-year Sales and Marketing Plans Produce and drive SMART Action Plans related to the Revenue Plan to ensure Revenue Plan objectives are achieved Drive execution of 1 to 3-year strategic Sales and Marketing Plan which talks to the IHG winning metrics, hotel or destination, review performance, successes, analyse failures and adjust approach. Support the execution of the brand hearted agenda, improve guest experience at the hotel level and build brand health to include positioning workshops, develop a greater understanding of the target and core customer for hotels/hotel residences/gold club Coordinate all methods of maintaining and increasing business volume. This includes advertising, sales promotion, personal selling, publicity, community relations, special sales projects, etc. Create and implement special programs to achieve greater profitability through: Increasing average rate Increasing overall occupancy Increasing business volume during off-peak periods Increasing local Food and Beverage and Banquet Sales Enhance the image of the hotel in the local community Participate as an active member of the community through associations, memberships and other trade organizations Review regularly activity reports of Sales and Marketing personnel to ensure targets and Sales objectives are being met Review regularly internal promotion pieces for visual effect and ensure they conform with brand standards Organize and promote, in cooperation with the Food and Beverage Department special projects to stimulate Food and beverage sales within the community, including, but limited to, tournaments, balls, parties, gastronomic festivities, etc. Interact with individuals outside the hotel, including, but not limited to clients, Convention Bureaus, local Hotel Associations, Government Tourist offices, Airlines, Travel Agents, Tour Operators, competitors and other members of the local community Investigate potential markets by: Reviewing government statistics on visitors to the city/resort destination/country, analyzing competition's sales/promotion efforts, studying various reference, internal customer data and industry publications for sales leads, reviewing government statistics on visitors to the city/resort destination/country, Analyzing competition's sales/promotion efforts.
